Tina Howlett joins Ultralets following 30 years experience in lettings at another well established letting agent in the area where she held the position of Lettings Manager.  

Tina, how long have you been with us?

I’ve just started, a matter of weeks ago and I’m really getting stuck in. The team here are great. Everyone is so approachable and I've been trained up on all the new systems at a manageable pace. 

Tell us about your role within the business?

I’m responsible for making sure tenants are referenced thoroughly prior to moving into a property. I also carry out property inventories and make sure properties are in good condition before tenants move in. Other day to day tasks include arranging viewings, inspections listing properties and the odd viewing here and there.

Have you always been in this industry?

Yes, since the age of 19 I've worked in a lettings office. I've seen the industry change so much. Even just moving here to Ultralets I’ve noticed how agents have made significant technological advances, going totally paperless and utilising software. There are so many more laws and procedures to be aware of these days as well (which is a great thing for the industry as a whole!).

What does ‘a day in the office’ look like for you?

My day starts by answering the email leads that have come in from the night before, arranging the viewings for the day and confirming the viewings we have booked in. I’ll then start to look into applications that we have received and get them processed as quickly and thoroughly as possible. No two days are the same in lettings though, something always pops up and I’m always solving new problems.

Where’s your favourite place to go in Hull? 

What, apart from work? Ha! I love going for meals and drinks with friends on Humber Street. It’s an area that has seen huge improvements in recent years and is a great asset for the city.
