Tips for First Time Tenants

19 Aug 2015

Not a lot in life carries the same meaning as moving on to a new place. The adventure of traveling to a new city, living somewhere anew can be matched only by a few things in level of excitement. There are a few things you will need to keep in mind as you move on, especially if this is your first time moving into a new home. The tips ahead will give you more information on the subject so you can make things easier for yourself and your moving company when you finally deal with moving house:

  • Working with a proper floor plan

Why would you be in need of a floor plan? Well as you move on with your new home, you will need to know any areas that may be used to place your items in when you arrive. This should also help out in the long stretch, as it will allow you to deal with placing everything where it will work out best. Not only that, but you will also have a chance to move things without them being unable to pass through doorways or harder stairwells.

  • Packing and more

You need to have a good amount of boxes before you move on, allowing you to pack right with boxes of various sizes so you can cover all potential needs. You can find such in many places, such as retail companies, office supply stores and even classifieds websites if you get things right. Packing is only one small part of the whole process, dealing with bubble wrap and packing peanuts among other types of padding.

  • Being there when moving

This is a pretty big one, as you will need to consider a lot of things when the big day comes. You need to have a list of belongings, keeping track of your inventory and making sure you have what you need. When you end up packing you will need to label things all the way so you can find what you need with ease on the day you arrive.

  • Keeping your pets safe

If you keep your pets somewhere else on moving day, you will have them safe and away from the moving team. Simply give them to a friend and you will have a far easier. If you need to, you can lock them in a different room just so they won’t get in the way. This is something that will speed things up and you won’t have to worry about it.

  • The need for a good parking spot

This is a must, as your moving company will need to have a close location so all your heavy furniture pieces and boxes can be moved without any issues. If the parking spots are not free, they will have to move long distances and this will only make things worse in the long run. This would not only make things harder than they need to be for the movers, but it will also slow down the moving process, so make sure you avoid it.
