VAT: A big concern for Landlords

21 Feb 2015

As very few residential landlords are Vat registered they have to consider using non-Vat registered suppliers to help them save up to 20% on their costs. However bear in mind that with repairs carried out, you will probably only save the 20% on the labour element of your bill as they are most likely to have paid Vat on their stock. Decent Letting Agents that can afford the office costs, websites and the staff to properly manage property are unlikely to have a turnover of less the qualifying turnover of £81,000.00 be aware of any Agents that are non VAT registered. Traders who don’t register and get caught out may come to you at a later date for the VAT if they are made to back date their registration. There does’t seem to be any political will from any of the main parties to reduce the VAT rate. If you have any questions about the post email hello@ultralets.co.uk
